Tour Photos from Djibouti, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, and London!

The Project Gratitude tour was Dec 2015-Jan 2016 spanning over SW Asia and London!  This was a tour setup specifically for entertaining the US troops stationed abroad over the holiday season.  Our mission: bring some Jet City Rock to the troops!

Check out some of the photos from the tour!    Photos are also available on Facebook for you Facebook users 🙂
Bullet points on what we learned:
  • The troops are incredible!  We loved hanging with them and getting to see a piece of their world
  • Camels are funny creatures
  • DFAC (Dining Facility) feeds us better than we get in the States
  • Everybody is an awesome shape thanks to the many, many, many gyms on base
  • Kuwait driving was the scariest of all the countries we visited
  • Collecting Military Coins is addictive
  • The people working at the laundry facilities are wizards.  That’s right Harry, wizards….or laundry ninjas.

The Adarna – Jet City Rock ~ I’ve been spinning The Adarna through my earbuds throughout this past summer and current fall. I love to run, and I recently made a playlist of kick ass songs. The first song that electrifies my neurons is Superman followed by Sugar. It’s no surprise that the rest of that playlist is a combination of other artists who produce a sound that motivates you to move. Let’s see, there’s the Foo Fighters, Thirty Second to Mars, Sick Puppies, Halestorm, Collective Soul, and Band of Love. Now those are some pretty noble metal and rock bands, but The Adarna certainly deserves to be in the mix. But isn’t that’s the whole purpose of blogs and music mags? Just when you think you’ve discovered the best of a given genre, some blogger comes along and introduces you to a band like The Adarna. It’s music you just have to own.
The Adarna is William Perry Moore, who is also the band’s manager, Andrea Jasek, Murdock, and Shana Fairchild. If you look over your shoulder, 2015 has been a grinding year for the band. Early in the year, they polished off their first album, How Perceptive, since 2012 when they released their self-titled EP,The AdarnaHow Perceptive launches you into “Adarna World” quickly with the lead off song, Echo, that has an impressive instrumental introduction. It’s a well engineered and produced tune that leans a bit toward pop-rock, but maintains enough of a heavy rock vibe to get you to the next song, Sugar. That when you strap yourself in for what Adarna touts as Jet City Rock; a sound they have been pummeling rock-in-rollers with on the northwest coast for several years now.
The Adarna took off and did The Perception Tour all of July, August, and the beginning of September in Washington, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Maryland. But like most bands that seem to be flourish on high-energy drinks, The Adarna don’t seem to rest much. On November 7, The Adarna is scheduled to produce their third significant music video for their song Echo. Look for an update sometime in The Digital Earbuds Music Blog when that goes live. I’ve conveniently provided you two of their previous video releases below this article. Yeah, you can thank me later.
The Adarna’s latest project has even greater significance! Cherie Kausler, press agent for Echo Eyes Entertainment, just announced, “The Adarna will be releasing a special album only available for the troops stationed abroad entitled “Project Gratitude.” Project Gratitude will include remastered singles from their first two albums and 3 debut songs (Lithium Kiss, These Monsters, and Firefight). The latest singles were recorded with, Emmy Award winner Greg Tobler and produced by Len Hotrum while the band was on tour in Connecticut. Project Gratitude is sponsored by Armed Forces Entertainment, the official Department of Defense agency for providing entertainment to U.S. military personnel serving overseas, with priority given to those in remote and isolated locations since 1951.”
Creating and sending an album to our troops is one thing, but it’s quite another to board an airplane and take it to them. The Adarna, will be doing an international tour to entertain the US troops stationed in the Middle East and Southwest Asia from December 2015 through January 2016. “This will be the first international tour for the Jet City Rockers and an opportunity to show their gratitude to the brave men and women who are unable to spend the holidays with their loved ones.” When asked about the tour, frontman, William Perry Moore is quoted, “I’m a military brat, and I remember how grateful the military families felt whenever bands performed on base. It was a great morale booster and something The Adarna has been focusing on doing ever since the formation.”
As author of The Digital Earbuds Music Blog, I encourage you to support Jet City Rock and the band members who are about to give up their own holidays to provide support to our troops in foreign lands. Pick up their album/s at Amazon, iTunes, or Bandcamp (see links below). You can also learn more about supporting and donating to our troops by going to the Operation Gratitude website as well. Make your earbuds happy and at the same time boost the morale of a service member with a click of a finger and from the comfort of your favorite easy chair. Peace Everyone.    d(-_-)b
